In 2008, That’s Life! Communications publishers N. J. Lindquist and Les Lindquist decided to do something to help release the voices of Christians in Canada. In partnership with World Vision Canada and The Word Guild, That’s Life! Communications published an anthology of work called Hot Apple Cider, which featured 30 Canadian writers. That book achieved bestseller status and won several awards. The follow-up book, A Second Cup of Hot Apple Cider, also won a number of awards and achieved bestseller status.
The two books feature 60 writers from the Canadian Christian community. In total, over 85,000 copies of the two Hot Apple Cider books are in circulation.
In 2014, Discussion Guides for the first two Hot Apple Cider books were released, along with a smaller, “sampler” book, A Taste of Hot Apple Cider.
Our largest book yet, Hot Apple Cider with Cinnamon, with 67 stories and poems by 61 writers, was published in October, 2015.
To date, we have published work by 100 Canadian writers.
